EPR Packaging Registration for EU & UK Sellers

All Countries Covered!

If you sell packaged products in the EU or UK, you need to register in each country, report how much packaging you sell, and pay recycling fees under local EPR rules. Examples include LUCID in Germany, CITEO in France, and CONAI in Italy.

Packaging Compliance

YOU WANT TO SELL PACKAGED PRODUCTS IN THE EU?

Without proper packaging registration in the required recycling schemes, such as LUCID (Germany), CITEO (France), CONAI (Italy), and the UK Packaging EPR system, your products will not be legally placed on the market and will be blocked by marketplaces or authorities.

With EU Compliance Partner, you can meet EU and UK packaging law requirements without dealing with multiple registrations, reporting systems, and recycling schemes yourself.

UPCOMING EU PACKAGING REGULATION: PPWR 2025/40

⚠️The European Commission describes PPWR as covering all packaging and packaging waste, regardless of material or origin, and setting requirements for manufacturing, composition, reusability, recoverability, waste management, and waste prevention.

PPWR does not remove national packaging EPR obligations. Instead, it further strengthens and harmonizes the existing framework around them.

If you place packaged products on the EU market, you need to register in each country where you sell, report packaging volumes, work with local producer responsibility organisations, and pay the required EPR fees.

FAQ

What is EU Packaging Compliance - VerpackG (Packaging Act)?

EU Packaging compliance, particularly under Germany’s VerpackG (Packaging Act), requires businesses to manage the lifecycle of their packaging materials, including collection, recycling, and disposal.

VerpackG (Verpackungsgesetz) is the German law that aligns with the EU’s waste management and recycling directives to govern the management of packaging waste. It ensures that packaging materials are handled in an environmentally responsible manner.

Who does Packaging Act (VerpackG) impact?

VerpackG impacts all businesses that place packaging on the German market, including manufacturers, importers, and online sellers like Amazon vendors. It’s a legal requirement for all companies to ensure their products meet EU standards, helping prevent regulatory issues and build consumer trust.

How do I register for VerpackG as an Amazon seller?

To register, you need to sign up with the LUCID Packaging Register in Germany. This involves providing details about your packaging and obtaining a registration number.

What is the 'EU Package Compliance Check'?

It’s a detailed evaluation ensuring your product’s packaging, labeling, and safety meet EU regulations. This is essential for legally selling in the EU market and verifies compliance with standards on materials, labeling, and safety.

Why is risk analysis important?
Risk analysis identifies potential legal and safety issues with packaging and labeling before they become problems. It helps you avoid fines, recalls, and legal disputes, protecting your business and maintaining a good market reputation.
What happens if I don’t comply with VerpackG?
Non-compliance can lead to fines, product bans, or removal from the market. It can damage your brand, cause loss of trust, and result in financial losses. Ensuring compliance avoids these issues and keeps your business running smoothly.
How can we help?

EU Compliance Partner simplifies compliance by handling checks, risk analyses, and ensuring your products meet EU regulations. We manage the complexities, letting you focus on your business with peace of mind, knowing your products are compliant and market-ready.
